What to know before you go
If you are on an Individual Health Plan or Medicare and planning to travel outside the United States you may not be covered for health care services.
Check your policy:
- Individual Health plans may only cover you for an emergency when traveling outside of your plans service area.
- If you have a Medigap policy it may include coverage when traveling.
- If you have another Medicare health plan instead of Original Medicare check with your plan to see if it includes coverage.
- Purchase a travel insurance policy that includes health coverage.
